We're having a baby!

Yes, you read right. We're pregnant! It's so exciting!! We wanted to wait a little longer to tell the whole world, but it's a hard secret to keep to yourself. I went for my first ultra sound today. I am approximately 9 weeks along. The baby measures almost exactly one inch. I saw the heart beat, and I saw it dance around, it was too cute.

I found a textbook picture that resembles out little baby at around the same time. It's kinda funny looking, notice his little foot sticking out in this picture. You can see the same thing on the ultra sound!

I'll call it my little gummi bear! We are so happy and have been waiting for this moment for a while. Can't wait to see how much more it grows!

Study time

So school started this Wednesday, and now I have a test that opens today (friday) and closes monday. Steve seems to have a lot of homework to do too. Anyways, here we are in the library, taking a quick break and a snapshot of us sitting together at the desks.

A new year, a new semester!

I can't believe it! Last year flew by so quickly! Steve and I had such a great time in MN. We spent time with both our families. I took my camera, but I didn't take many pictures. I guess there was no time. We both flew standby on Christmas day. We hung out with the family, went to the Mathias gathering and white elephant gift exchange. The theme was "42"
which is the answer to the 'ultimate question' in the movie Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy (kind of nerdy I know, but we didn't pick it) At first the gift Steve got was 42 packages of Ramen noodles, but we couldn't put that in our luggage, so we traded for a pair of "Team Mathias" shirts

We ate so much food! I think I gained like 5 pounds just from eating there. We opened up great Christmas presents at Steve's parents' house, and ate some more, went to my sis in laws baby shower, went bowling, and took some family pictures with the Mathias family. Then, we hung out with my mom, went out to eat with her, and played lots of games with her, my sister and her 3 kids. It was a riot! My family loves games and we get very competitive! Time went by fast and it was time for us to go back home.

After checking with the flight employees, all of the flights were booked for Dec 30th . We still decided to go, and we got in, AND we got to sit by each other. After getting to SLC, we drove back to Rexburg. While in Idaho falls, we decided to go to Target and spend a few gift cards that we had. We ended up buying super nice stuff for next Christmas at a super clearance price!

Now we are back. Steve quit work at Gandolfos because he starts school tomorrow. He was thinking about quitting FedEx too, but when we weighed the pros and cons Fed Ex won. He is only part time there, but he gets paid really well, and he gets a ton of benefits. FedEx gives us both insurance, and gives Steve a 401 K, and on top of that, Steve has a guaranteed minimum of 17 hours which means that if he ends up working 12 hours that week, he gets paid for 17!! Now he works the afternoons at Fed Ex instead of the mornings, his boss wanted to keep him.

Steve is going to have to balance a LARGE load. He is currently registered for 3 Mechanical engineering courses (one is engineering MATH! eww, glad he likes it ), General Chemistry, and a religion class. I on the other hand have two nursing classes throughout the semester, two clinical days a week, and I joined the University Orchestra. It will be fun. I need to keep up with my violin or else I get rusty.

This semester will hopefully be the last semester before I graduate as a nurse. I am excited and scared because I still don't think I know a lot about it. I have to read so much for these classes and I have to prepare for the state boards sometime in May or June.

I'm excited for this year. There will be Lots and Lots of changes. It will all be good though! Wish us luck this semester!
